 excellent or mediocre?
« Thread Started on Nov 4, 2009, 7:39am »

Hey, guys....sorry I've been gone so long.

It looks like this year's version of the SEC is gonna have two
super teams in Bama and Florida, a pretty good one in LSU...Vandy is out of luck, and then you have about eight teams in the middle mix.....as a matter of fact, you could possibly have six of them end up with 6-6 records if things fall in the strange pattern they have been.

Is the SEC right now just building a monster where most teams are in the same ballpark, or has it become mediocrity?

Interesting question, Bill, and one that is most difficult to answer. The fact that the middle of the pack teams beat each other to death, would account for so many records that many would label mediocre. I would tend to go with excellence. My reasoning is that, while most conferences seem to have two or three competitive teams at the most, when the bowl games roll around, every team the SEC puts in a bowl game is usually very competitive with their opponent. Out of conference games aren't a very good barometer, in my opinion, as most OOC opponents are cupcakes.

I would think excellent as well, some of our middle of the pack teams would raise 9 kinds of hell in some of the other conferences.
