To say thank you, Northern State Coach Don Meyer presented his Kentucky counterpart with a clock moments before last night's exhibition tipoff.
Then UK was supposed to clean the Division II team's clock.
Well, Kentucky won comfortably, 80-51. But two familiar bugaboos -- rebounding and free-throw shooting -- took the shine off the victory and, at least partially, obscured promising debuts by newcomers Rekalin Sims and Jared Carter.
"I was pleased with everybody's energy and effort," UK Coach Tubby Smith said in accentuating the positive.

The newcomers played up to much more than expectations including Williams. Life is good!
