LEXINGTON, Ky. - Without divulging the source, University of Kentucky media relations director Scott Stricklin expressed regret regarding the negative quotes about senior guard Patrick Sparks that appeared in the October issue of Slam magazine. More..click hereMaybe, just maybe Sparks has figured out at an early age what "turds" most sports writers are. I wonder if anyone has thought of that?

Given what he has been called by the opposing fans around the SEC and else where, I don't think being called a "turd" by a PR type is going to weigh heavily on him. Though he will now have to listen to variations on this "turd" theme from the student section of every road game, I think he'll handle it just fine.
However, from my perspective, it just shows that everyone in the UK AD's office is not as professional as they need to be. It shows they aren't on the same 'team' with Patrick and have added to his burden as he represents UK around the league. If I was Sparks, I wouldn't hesitate to let Stricklin know how much I appreciated the 'assist'!
