The only thing to me that is a strain on folks is the age factor. I remember not too long after I got out of the Navy, I was playing basketball on an out door court with some guys. I was 25 and still in pretty good shape because of playing softball, Sunday league baseball and also basketball with the local league during the winter. Well this one kid was about my size and had skills that were pretty close to matching mine but with a bit more speed. I asked him, what year are you in school, a Sophomore? He replied, nope, eighth grade. I'm sure he wasn't on the same level as Avery but BG must have been impressed with Avery as I was with the young kid I had played with, hence the scholarship offer. I think recruiting that young has it's drawbacks and subject to debate but to me, the earlier you get in on a recruit the better shot you have with them.

I have a lot of apprehension about it, but I do have my fingers crossed it works out.

I can see where it could be detrimental in landing someone with better talent that is older and then having to decide whether to hold a scholarship open for the guy you recruited earlier. It seems to happen all the time, just not so much with such younger players.
