The Big Orange dream of hiring Jon Gruden as its football coach has officially come to an end. The Knoxville News-Sentinel reports this morning that the former Tennessee graduate assistant, who married a Tennessee cheerleader, has told the Vols that he has no interest in their open head coaching job. johnclay.bloginky.com/2012/11/30/report-jon-gruden-tells-tennessee-no-thanks/#Thank goodness, is all I can say.

Are you happy because Gruden could have been a good coach for them? Exactly, Bubba. I believe Gruden would have brought them back to prominence in short order.

You would think that someone with UT ties and could be a good fit would go for it. Evidently some don't like being under a magnifying glass.

I believe Gruden makes about four mil a year from his tv gig, plus I read somewhere that he makes money from the Madden video fb game, so money shouldn't be a factor. Since he passed up an opportunity to go back "home", I doubt if he ever coaches college fb. If he ever coaches again, I believe it will be back in the NFL.

It would be hard to give that up for the rigors of college football for sure.
