The University of Kentucky landed its top remaining football target for the recruiting class of 2016 on Saturday, when Paintsville linebacker Kash Daniel announced his commitment to the Wildcats. In a matter of weeks, Daniel – a 6-foot-3, 230-pound prospect – went from a player who was barely known outside of Eastern Kentucky to a recruit who drew interest from some of college football’s top programs. Daniel chose Kentucky over fellow finalists South Carolina and Louisville. He was also being evaluated by Ohio State and Florida for possible scholarship offers before he chose to end his recruitment. The pledge is another major recruiting victory for UK Coach Mark Stoops, who has repeatedly said that keeping the state’s best players close to home will be crucial in rebuilding the Wildcats program. 247Sports ranks Daniel as the No. 2 inside linebacker and No. 96 overall prospect in the class of 2016. That recruiting service also pegs him as the No. 2 player in the state behind Woodford County offensive lineman Drake Jackson, who committed to Kentucky in December. UK also has a commitment from Lafayette offensive lineman Landon Young, the No. 3 player in the state, according to 247Sports. ukrecruiting.bloginky.com/2015/07/04/paintsville-linebacker-kash-daniel-commits-to-uk/Coach Stoops and company are killing it on the recruting trail.

I guess UK may be coming a major Dl school in several sports. When you beat Louisville and Captain Headband, you may go to the head of the class. GO STOOPS!
