Shain gave me the idea of seeing how people actually rank the current coaches in the sec. Please take a little time and put them in order from best to worst. I will be very interested in seeing what everyone thinks.
Tubby Smith - UK
Billy Donovan - Florida
Bruce Pearl - Tennessee
Dave Odom - South Carolina
Kevin Stallings - Vanderbilt
Dennis Felton - Georgia
John Brady - LSU
Mark Gottfried - Alabama
Stan Heath - Arkansas
Rod Barnes - Ole Miss
Rick Stansbury - Miss. State
Jeff Lebo - Auburn

I will be working on my rankings and posting them sometime tonight or tomorrow. I look forward in seeing how everyone else ranks them 1 through 12.

I agree with your assesment of Pearl. I am not sure he will be at UT long enough to get a true assessment of his coaching ability!

I believe it will all depend on his recruitment of players and exactly what type and kind he gets to come in down there. Remember the little guard that was a thug, I forgot his name. They had several thugs here as of late. Dang it, and the other big guy who was pretty good. Kind of frumpy. Wore the head band all the time. Well, I can't think of nothing any more. |

Tony Harris was the guard, yea you are right about thugs. He was hurt and couldnt play that year but still acted like he wanted to fight!

Ron Slay, he was the main instigator. I kinda liked him though, he did it just to stir things, I don't believe there was any hatred.

It will all depend upon his W and L record, but he will leave sooner if he gets the thugs and runs into problems. IF he gets decent folk, keeps Tenn in or near the top 25, he will move on out after several years. It is a bit of "circus time" with him and his antics. He guaranteed some Tenn fans outside the arena that they were to beat FLA before their game.

I believe he's got a bit more showmanship so to speak than Rick did. If it just weren't for his demonic look, yuck.
