Although just for a short spell, the drop in temperature has me in a deep chill. I don't think my body has given up on fall yet which makes it less bearable.

I saw, on the Weather Channel, where the North, Mid-West and Northeast is supposed to get hammered with brutally cold temps and snow. It was 18 here last night and we think that's cold. Everyone stay safe and warm.

The long-range forecast for our area this winter was to be colder than normal but I'm not ready for single digits which we just had. It's supposed to get up to 50° in a few days and then the next day 17°. I think we've been spoiled by the last few winters being fairly warm. I dearly hope that this is not an indicator of what's in store for January and February. The coldest temperature I've had to endure here in Indiana was -18° in 1983. Being retired now does have its advantages when it comes to cold temps or ice and snow. The first two winters I spent here (81 and 82) were horrible as far as snow which prompted me to get a 4 wheel drive, I haven't been without one since.
