Welcome the usual morning-after consternation. The Cats fiddled and diddled last night. They did their usual first-half lollygag. Tubby Smith seethed under his starched collar. The Cats didn't pay much attention until they needed to pay much attention and finally dispensed with High Point, 75-55. Click Here

It seems to be the same old story and not being in their shoes, I wouldn't know what to do to change it. They need to play the same all the time but it's hard to do for a lot of teams.

I think this game fell in a tough spot for us, and hope we arent falling into the bad habit of playing up or down to our competition!!

It's a hard thing for some teams to do and UK seems to do just what you mentioned, playing up and down to the competition.

Imo, its a youth and inexperience thing.
Tubby's practices are reputed to be tougher than Pitino's were. After a week of that, a game against a team like High Point or Liberty must seem a freaking vacation!
Even if it's not a conscious response it is very difficult to have the same level of intensity without the adrenalin induced by a respected opponent. It’s not until Tubby puts the fear of God into them that they have the personal chemistry to bear down. The problem as I see it, is that they get into the scary habit of thinking they CAN turn it on and off.
That is the kind of thing that true senior leadership helps to cure!
