Basketball prospect Willie Kemp committed to Memphis yesterday. Kentucky, which got a campus visit from the Bolivar, Tenn., guard last weekend, did not even finish second in that recruiting race.
Yet there's reason for "guard-ed" optimism, even an expectation of an impending commitment, as UK seeks to replenish its backcourt this recruiting year. That is because UK's interest thrills another guard, Jodie Meeks, who plans to make his official visit to Lexington this coming weekend.

Hmmm, with Jasper and Porter already commited, I'm wondering if this is ligit anymore. Meeks is an unusual breed though, a 6'4 point guard with shooting guard skills and height. Very interesting as Artie Shaw of laugh in use to say. OH, I'm sorry, most don't know about that show.
Hot off the press: I guess I didn't read things close enough, Jasper is a 6'5 POINT guard and Meeks as we know is a combo. So as it says, this is not a problem.
