The last 1/3 acre I mowed in the rain. I don't care how many leaves fall or how high the grass gets, I'm done.

I've been done for awhile. I've had some back problems this summer and I had to contract it out. The guy does a great job and is very reasonable. He was here chopping up leaves earlier this week. I can't begin to tell you how great it is not having to do it. He does a lot better job than I ever did. My wife said for me not to worry about ever having to do it again. He does a much better job than me so she doesn't want me doing it again. Sometimes there's something said for being incompetent.

I haven't decided to give up the ghost yet but it's not too far in the future.

You might like it, Bubba. I was watching the leaves pouring down a few minutes ago and thinking how wonderful it is that I don't have to do them next week.

That's funny Sandman. I hated fall and still do more than spring when the mowing season starts. Leaves have always been a problem because they plug up my culvert. It doesn't bother my neighbor, he has a 16 year old son that mows his yard and they could give a flip about mulching any leaves.

There's nothing much worse than having an inconsiderate neighbor.

Well, I have to eat my words on my neighbor. He, his son and even his wife were sprucing their yard up and mulched their yard. I was surprised and impressed at the same time. It's supposed to get back up to the mid-fifties in about a week and I might mulch again then but not after that. I checked all of my vehicle's antifreeze and cut up and hauled about 600 pounds of limbs that storms had brought down. This was yesterday and I'm feeling it pretty good today and expect to feel it more tomorrow. We got an inch of snow today and 12 degrees tonight so I won't be doing much ... make that nothing.
