It's been fairly decent this winter so far to me but as soon as I say this, it will turn sour. It seems every time I say something positive about something it does a 180-degree turn on me. It seems to be so regular that I feel the need to force myself not to make or take a positive view of things and comment on them to others (wife especially). It also seems to work on the negative things I say as well. I guess I should just keep my mouth shut but it's a little late in the game now or is it? I once said on Facebook that the only thing good about winter was Christmas and Kentucky basketball. One of my former coworkers said, "just Kentucky basketball". A UK diehard and a scrooge combined. Sometimes working shiftwork will give a person that kind of attitude. Holidays and weekends are often spent at work which kind of takes the fun out of some of them. Not feeling sorry for myself, just saying. There are many folks out there giving of themselves not only to support themselves and their family but also giving of their time for others. Hmmm, must be kind of a soapbox day?

We've not had a lot of snow, yet, but we have had quite a bit of cold weather. It seems like every time it's in the 20's or 30's, the cold is always accompanied by a nice stiff breeze. You'd be hard pressed to get me to say anything nice about winter though. When the temp dips below 70, I think it's cold.

I'm with you on the temperature thing, if I could get someone to house-sit and my wife wasn't babysitting for my nephew (for free as well) I would be in Georgia or Florida. Having said that, I should add that I would do that under normal situations but not now. I'm not a winter person at all and am really glad I don't have to get out in it at 2 AM like I used to. Going to work at that time in blinding snow and before the snow trucks had done much was no fun. NTW, we got snow last night which wasn't in the forecast. These weather people get paid good money to be wrong at least 25% of the time or maybe more.
