Payne needs just a few more pieces to his team and they should start being stiffer competition. The Cards played OK for about the first 6 to 8 minutes, then the adrenalin wore off and the Cats hit 2nd gear and then auto-pilot.

I doubt if Kenny will be around to acquire any additional pieces. I'd say this will be his last season. I'm wondering if he will make it through this season.

I've heard the same rumblings about Payne myself. Everyone wants success right away no matter what team it is. Sometimes it's the coach that wants a greener pasture. I'd like to see Louisville get back on track, just as long as they don't beat Kentucky. :>) I'm a Kentucky fan first and foremost but I still like and root for all of the KY teams. |

Kenny sort of got a vote of confidence from the UofL AD. He said Kenny wouldn't be replaced during the season.

I'm not quite sure that would be a really sincere vote of confidence but I'm sure he will take it as such. I guess he will find out in March or maybe April. I think he deserves at least another season, maybe two to get some better pieces added to the program. I feel he's a good coach. If UL fans think he's a bad coach, then let them hire Billy G. They would be kicking themselves for letting Payne go. |
