STORRS, Conn. -- Connecticut guards Marcus Williams and A.J. Price were suspended from the team Wednesday after the duo were arrested in connection with the theft of four laptop computers. Williams, the Huskies' starting point guard, was arrested Tuesday and faces four counts of third-degree larceny, which carry a penalty of up to five years in prison and $5,000 in fines. I would like to make two points about this situation.
First, I am more then a little surprised that USA basketball selected Williams to there Under 21 team with all this stuff pending! It kind of makes you wonder about what was going on there.
Second, its very easy to hand out heavy suspensions from all basketball related activities in August. Lets see if Calhoun feels this is serious enough to continue all of this when it starts getting serious!
