Tucson, AZ (U-WIRE) -- The National Basketball Association players union and the league's owners agreed to a new labor contract yesterday, increasing the minimum age to be eligible to play in the league from 18 to 19. UA men's basketball head coach Lute Olson was critical of the move, however, which he says could handcuff college programs into deciding whether or not to offer a scholarship to a player who might only be with the team for one year. I don't see where that's true, maybe a bit less time.

I really hate to admit it but I also see Lute Olsens point. It is kind of a waste of time on these one year flashes unless your name is Carmello Anthony! In defense of the coaches with as many guys who go pro without being ready who can ever tell if they will up and leave or not!?
