LAWRENCE, Kan. -- Roy Williams violated NCAA rules when he was the basketball coach at Kansas, approving payments to players who had used up their eligibility, the school said Friday. After conducting an internal review, the school said Williams -- preparing for his third season at national champion North Carolina -- approved payments to graduating players and other Jayhawk players who had exhausted their eligibility. More..click hereI wonder why these infractions aren't placed on the coach and some kind of penality given. Roy should have to sit out at least 5 conference games say and pay a $25000 fine. That would seem fair, what do you all think?

I have always thought the coach should be held more responsible in some instances then the school! I look at it like this, its simply another in a long line of stories which makes me thank the lord above that Tubby Smith runs our program!

Maybe I was a bit harsh in my assessment of things, after all, he aided someone that had used up their eligibility. It's probably one of those picky type rules like no aid to any students regardless whether they're an athlete or not. Probably a minor infraction. My original thought still applies though, and that would be to have the infraction penalty follow the coach as well.

I really dont think you were too harsh. This probably isnt a major infraction, but I am tired of these coaches breaking all these rules and leaving and schools being punished and the coach getting away totally free!!

I thought I posted somewhere on here that he looked like he tried to do the right thing but someone didn't catch it and that I had bet that Sandy bell wouldn't have dropped the ball like they did.
