He's a good coach and likes it where he is from the article.

Yea he is a graduate of Villanova and married a former Villanova cheerleader. BUT, we all know those contracts dont mean a whole lot if a coach wants to leave.

He's probably getting paid well, it's his home school and doesn't have to put up with those fickled UK fans either.

You have a point, but the exposure at one of the premier programs in the country is a strong, strong pull. I dont see a lot of people turning us down the next time we have a job opening.

They should hire you for their PR man.

It would be such a cool job to have a job with the basketball program in almost any capacity! I know a lady who I used to work with that interviewed for a job in the basketball office and she said the perks as far as tickets and use of facilities and everything were out of this world!

I would imagine you will see Wright at 'Nova for the duration. History, team conditions and fan support would be awfully difficult to leave behind. If the move was to "bigger and better", the temptation would warrant consideration. But I don't see it happening any time soon.

I agree Wright will not leave for just ANY job. It would have to be something that is a definite step up in ALL areas.

Villanova has a great basketball history, even though they have had their down years. I just wonder what the deal was with the article from the New York paper. Maybe it was an incentive article for Mr. Wright's future. If it was, it worked.

Not only did it work, its worked fast. If that was what it was intended to do like you said it was successful!
But simply because he signed an extension doesnt mean that he wont leave for a BIG TIME job. When Tubby does decide to leave for whatever reason, whoever we hire will be walking away from some type of contract somewhere.
