Cards to get new arena

Acoording to this morning's CJ news, the Cards should be in a new downtown arena by the 2010-11 season. It is supposed to hold close to 22,000 and be close to the river.
I really don't know if this is what they were expecting in order to lure an NBA franchise though.

It will be interesting to see if Coach P. will still be there there then, 4 plus years down the road.

If they were wanting an NBA franchise, they would have needed to build at least a 50,000 seater. The problem with that is, it would have a heck of an echo with the Cardinal crowd.
