I hate to disagree but being on the 27 and running the ball isn't that bad of an idea. If you gain some, maybe even break it, it's good. If you don't, you're still in field goal range. Noone can forsee a fumble or a dropped ball on the kickoff. Handing off to a back is 90% safer than a pass. Your're being picky, or would there be an "r" in there.

I perhaps didnt make it clear, it was OUR own 27. That is why when we fumbled they were in field goal range without running a play.
I agree, if we had been on their 27 yea run the ball and then try to get 3 points. But when things had went like they had in the first half, either throw the hail mary and hope for something good to happen or run the clock out instead of running it up the middle with 14 seconds left!

If Miss didn't have any time outs running is still a safe bet. If Little had broke one for a td, what would have been said then? I think besides not having good assistants until this year that Brooks is cursed by the football gods and by a lot of UK fans including yourself obviously.

I agree that UK is also cursed by the football gods and has been for years! However under the circumstances and how things had went up to then, if I were the coach I would have took a knee. I suppose that is why he gets paid the big bucks is to make those big decisions!

Fuss at Barnhart about the big bucks, I wouldn't have turned them down if I were Brooks.
