They salvaged a bit of respectability, especially with the injuries they have. I was impressed with Pulley and feel he should get more snaps. Now, I've got to finish mowing where the rain stopped me yesterday.

i will give the players credit for not quiting in the second half. I will point out that everything basically was either done against Florida's 2nd teamers, jv players or starters who came back in and were just trying to finish the game without getting hurt for Alabama next week! As for Pulley, he is a great talent, but not ready for SEC competition by any stretch of the imagination yet.

Pulley made a few plays that Woodson couldn't make, the ones where scrambling was involved. Pulley also made some decent passes as well. If he gets some playing time (and it looks like he will) he'll do much better next year.

I dont see anything wrong with him getting more playing time. However, the year before people were saying Boyd needed to play more instead of Lorentzon. Last year when he came into the game people were saying Woodson should play more instead of Boyd! This year it will be Pulley needs to play more instead of Woodson. I wish people would realize it has a lot to do with the guy on the sidelines with head coach next to his name! With that said, no matter who our coach is we dont win today. BUT, I think other coaches would have had us a little better prepared for some of the situations we failed in, during the first half!

I noticed near the end of the game that things got fairly exciting and it seemed a little improvising was going on coaching wise (which I hope happens from the getgo from now on). If UK had scored on their last drive, a much better feeling might have surfaced about things. One thing for sure though, sizewise, we can't expect to do very well playing teams with pro sized players with our high school sized players. Even The Bubbette (which knows much less about football then I) commented about our defensive line looking like an offensive line (size wise).

Back to the days of Jerry Caliborne we have always been outsized by the other SEC teams. That is why you have to do other things to win in the SEC then just run it down their throats. While the differential now is more so then in the past, its something we will always have to fight against! What you also have to take into consideration is will anyone other then die hard UK recruits want to come and be a part of this MESS we have right now? Its doubtful and who can blame them?

As far as UK recruits, maybe and maybe not. Sometimes seeing someone struggling makes a recruit want to come even more but not the class "A" recruits, just the trueblues.

I will admit that for some reason Brooks is able to recruit a little better then I would ever expect. But a key part to that is that Joker Phillips is the recruiting director!
