On having the bye week and preparing for South Carolina… “This is a big game for us and a big game for South Carolina. We both haven’t won a conference game and are struggling a bit. We have a tougher task than South Carolina, having to go on the road. This is a huge game for us. The team is clearly fresher after the bye week. A lot of the linemen, who have been in the trenches getting pounded on, got a chance to heal up. Hopefully that will carry over into more inspired play. I normally don’t like off weeks, but this one has been good for us due to all of the injuries. If you look at the list of injuries that we could get back as a result of the two bye weeks so close together, it is better to have them now as opposed to late in the season. We might get (wide receivers) Tommy Cook and Keenan Burton back a lot sooner as a result of the bye weeks. That could be huge for us.” More..click hereI feel this is a winable game but the Cats are still far from being back to full strength, Cook and Burton will add much needed help but whether it's enough obviously remains to be seen. The big factors to me will be the same as the last game and that is , can the offense stay on the field long enough to give UK's battered defense a decent breather from time to time and if it can do that, can the defensive line hold their ground against an offense that's wanting to strut it's stuff. Time will tell won't it? GO CATS!
