I was impressed by the effort all the way around! Both on the field and on the sidelines. Joker Phillips has been offensive coordinator for 2 games and our offense has been explosive in both games!
I will also compliment Rich Brooks on the coaching adjustments made at the half on both sides of the ball. Yes it is me and I am complimenting him!
Andre Woodson has star written all over him. He looked really down at the end of the game and does need to work on ball security, but he is going to be a player!
I will say that the old jinx did jump up to get us again with Woodsons fumble at the goaline. How many people were really surprised when something like that happenned? Of course its better to be in a position like that to win then not be in that position!
All in all, its only one game I know and I refuse to let it get me too excited, because its a long season. BUT, I do feel better about this season then I did before. The result next week and the week after next will be even more important then this week. I think the CATS passed their test this week in showing improvement, now its time to hopefully pick up a couple of wins!

I agree with what you've said and hope that this game wasn't a good game just because it was UL they were playing. They've got to go out now and play against lesser teams talent wise than UL and get up for them as well.

I told my wife just before the goal line fumble that UK would find a way to break everyone's heart again. I wasn't surpirsed at all by that fumble.
I was surpirsed by the effort they put in the game. I for one counted them out before the game ever got started and they showed heart and lots of impovement. I still think we will struggle this season, but the future is looking brighter.

I agree countryboy we are going to struggle this year, but perhaps we will be a little better then I thought!
I also agree Bubba, lets hope they put out the same effort the next couple of weeks as they did today. If so we could be looking at a 2-1 record! With that said one of my biggest complaints with Brooks has been his inability to motivate his teams against teams such as Vandy, Ohio U that we should beat! Lets hope we are there close to getting over that hump!

If they can hold their heads up and build on this, a 4 win season and a couple of scare the bejesus out of them games are not out of the question. Go CATS!

They and us have to keep everything in perspective. I would have loved to win, but for the first time in forever I feel some hope in my heart for this program. With that said, a bad effort against Idaho next week or getting beaten in Bloomington the next week could be the old one step forward, two steps back syndrome! We have to use this as a positive and move forward and build on it.
