There is a new show on NBC called My Name Is Earl. The title character of the program is a man who thinks he's cursed. He decides that the "bad karma" that afflicts him has been created by his own life errors. And that the only way to change his fate is to apologize and make things right with the people he has wronged. That premise -- that the way to change one's star-crossed destiny is by setting right past wrongs -- caused a Herald-Leader reader to suggest we apply that approach to a local enterprise that has long reeked of bad karma. Many believe that the University of Kentucky football program is cursed. More..click hereBe gone ye football demons, be gone.

Interesting thoughts. It does seem like we have long, long had some type of curse!

We have shot ourselves in the foot a few times. I agree with you here. I feel like we have the "Catch 22" thing going on. We just can't wait to win, so we rid ourselves of a "losing" coach only to hire another coach who basically starts with inferior product, and expect him to have a winning season within 2 years or the cycle starts all over again. I've seen the posts of "look Morris is actually winning games now". Maybe we are cursed in football. I do know that when it came down to choosing Rupp or Bryant, we chose Rupp. Does that mean that we chose basketball over football forever?

Hey trueblue, i agree with you its a catch 22 thing about football at UK.
Myself I am not one of those people who thinks that this coach should be gotten rid of for losing. I have watched us lose for 30 years. Its the way we lose, the lack of passion displayed by the team and the coach. Its the wasted timeouts the poor strategy, its trying to take Jared Lorentson and trying to make him an option quarterback his senior year!
Its losing at home to Ohio U, its not being ready to play against Vandy year before last and them winning one game and being us! It doesnt matter to me that we are losing, its the fact that we arent making ANY progress!! ANY AT ALL!! When people talk about our program its to laugh at us! Kids simply dont get excited about playing for Brooks!
I was totally against changing coaches again because like most people I thought another change would be horrible! After watching 2.5 years of this "mess" we got right now it cant get any worse if they went around Commonwealth Stadium and let each fan make a choice on what to do on each play! Right now a change a fresh, exciting face with some intensity, fire and excitement is the only way to turn this mess around!
