In looking at the first two years of the Brooks regime, it has actually been quite a bit worse then the first two years of the Curry regime. In Curry's first two years we won 5 games the first year and then 6 games in the second season and actually played in the Peach Bowl! Things of course unraveled after that, lets hope that it doesnt unravel much more for Brooks then it already has. I am not sure there is a lot left to unravel!

You seemed to be letting your dislike for Brooks cloud your memory about not having enough scholarship players. I doubt if very many could have had very good seasons with that albatross. Just my opinion.

You know, everytime I hear Curry calling a game; I think gee, he really seems to know what he's talking about. However, knowing and coaching are two entirely different matters. I don't think Brooks would make a good announcer though. This year could be very crucial to him.

Your thoughts are taken into consideration Bubba. However my biggest thoughts about Brooks that sticks out in my memory is the total and complete lack of offensive imagination. You cant win in the SEC at Kentucky trying to ram the ball down Florida, LSU and Tennessee's throat! Ok perhaps he made a step in the right direction by making Joker Phillips the coordinator now. Also what appears to be his inablity to motivate the players we do have. We should not even in a down year lose to Ohio University. What also appears to be a total lack of organization, dozens of times in the last two years we have wasted timouts in both halfs because of the coaching staffs inability to have a play ready to get in to the huddle before the play clock ran out. All of these traits seem to famillar to me.
I have supported coaches before at UK that I really didnt think could get the job done. But to me we just played this record before with Bill Curry. As i stated, there isnt much difference to me at all, with the possible exception of the lack of scholarships. My biggest thing is I dont want to painfully go through 7 or 8 years of Brooks like we did Curry! But those are just my opinions and everyone has theirs.

I can't argue with you on several things you've mentioned but having different coaches in key spots as you mentioned along with more scholarship players may shape things up a bit. In my opinion, It's still going to be hard to win big against one of if not the strongest conference in the nation.

You are very right Bubba, chances are we are never going to win big in the SEC in football! I think all of the Ky football fans would be overjoyed to beat tenn or florida once every 3 or 4 years. If we could win our non conference games agains the teams we should beat and not get totally dominated by UofL! Hey wins over teams like Ole Miss, Miss. State and Vandy arent to much to ask for even at UK. I dont exepect SEC championships but bowl games occasionally would be nice!

I feel (and I'm not the football guy here) that bowl games are just around the corner. Brooks has stated that we're still about 10 short on scholies and 10 decent scholarship players would make a heck of a difference on any team. Be patient, we're either going to start winning or a new coach will be seleted.
