Michael Smith The Courier-Journal LEXINGTON, Ky. -- With a little more than 12 minutes left in a tougher-than-expected game against Lipscomb, University of Kentucky basketball coach Tubby Smith substituted for the last time. The Wildcats were mired in a two-point tussle with a team it was expected to throttle, and Smith hadn't been able to find the right combination of players to put away the Bisons or stop their torrid sixth man, Eddie Ard. Finally, it was a strange concoction of three guards and two forwards that jolted the Cats (2-0) past Lipscomb 67-49 last night before 19,369 sometimes-tense fans at Rupp Arena. I think this is the lineup that would do the trick. Moss played well last night along with Perry but that's my lineup if I were choosing.

I mostly agree with you except Id play Thomas in place of Shag. With the pace we want to play at and with Rondo as our point guard, I think we would benefit from playing like we did year before last with Daniels and Hayes. I think people may be overlooking the output of Thomas, he always seems to guard the toughest inside player, set a lot of screens and really battle for defensive rebounds! As for our centers they need to get stronger, smarter and quicker. I think there will be times where they can contribute but we have to play our five best even if it doesnt include a TRUE center!

I think you're right but Shag will get his minutes.
