Jerry Tipton HERALD-LEADER So how good is Rajon Rondo? "I think he is special ... ," said C.M. Newton, whose connection to college basketball spans more than 50 years. "As the staff works with him, I think he'll be as good a guard as ever played there." There, of course, is the University of Kentucky, which claims the best players, best coaches, best tradition, best announcer, best equipment manager, best fans, best Midnight Madness, soon-to-be best practice facility, best everything in the game. More..click hereNot too shabby being compared to the famous UK legend Ralph Beard. It sure would be nice to have Rondo for four years but we all know that isn't going to happen.

Everything depends on that proverbial outside shot. If it makes a consistent appearance this year, yeah, he's gone. Failing that, we will be graced with his presence until it arrives. Its a win/win!

So far, Rondo seems to have the jumper dropping, a few games against better competition should tell the tale.

I agree the jump shot is important but my lord he does sooooooo many things so well on the court! Can you imagine what it is like to be the point guard on the other side to have to try and contain him off the dribble and then to have to protect the ball from him on defense?
