LARRY VAUGHT/ Advocate-Messenger Basketball players at the University of Kentucky have enormous demands on their time and always seem to be in the spotlight because of the attention the program receives from the media and fans. However, what we all sometimes tend to forget is that these players, as talented as they might be, really are just ordinary college-age students. What we also don't always know is how often these players make time to be with others, especially children who admire them because of their status at Kentucky. That story right there is one of the many things that makes this program, the GREATEST, MOST SPECIAL and MOST UNIQUE in the country!!
Its why we as fans stand up and clap every time we hear On, ON U of K! Its why we hang on every piece of news and update during the season and during off season! Its why we at any age can be brought to having tears in our eyes when we here "My Old Kentucky Home." Guys this place is special! Our history and tradition is special! Our players are special! Our coach is special!
It also goes to show you that not only does Tubby Smith run one of the most successful basketball programs in the country! He also runs the CLASSIEST!!!
