I was just wanting everyones thoughts on yesterdays loss now that we have had a day to let it sink in.
First of all to me it shows we do NEED Randolph Morris as an inside offensive factor. We just dont have that player right now that you an throw it into and they are going to make an offensive move and score or that the other team has to consider double teaming! Now I know what some people think because I have read it all over other sites is that well he only averaged 8 points and 4 rebounds a game last year. That is true but he was a freshmen and was prone to foul trouble. I think that would change this year and it would also allow Sims to play his normal position of power forward. So lets keep our fingers crossed on some good news there!
Secondly we need Joe Crawford back his athletic ability on the perimeter was badly missed yesterday. Lets hope he recovers from his nagging injuries as soon as possible!
Without Morris we are very perimeter oriented and will be up and down all year as to when the shots are falling!
This team will improve and hopefully that will come sooner then later. I still like this team and its potentiel. But they have to pick it up a notch in the next week or so or there will be some nights we will be suffering more losses when everything isnt going our way!
I am going to try and take the optimistic outlook on this game is over and lets move on to Georgia State, IU and UofL! Go CATS

I posted this on another site
UK was a step slow yesterday against UNC and if everyone is going to chew this up and come up with what they think is the answer, it could come down to something as simple as being too early of a game. UK is at home with all the at home distractions and UNC is in here totally focused on the task at hand. I'm not saying some of the other reasons aren't valid, just throwing something else into the mix. UNC played great defense and was knocking down their threes which the last is not their strong suit. Rondo looked like ED Davender walking the ball up the floor and didn't play like he should have until it was desperation time.
And yes we missed Crawford and do need a presence in the middle badly.

I miss KAZ but he is gone and my thoughts on yesterdays loss is simple, we have to have Morris back! and our defense looks very slopy.

UNC appeared to be setting good screens and our players were at least a couple of steps behind and it also looked like we didn't have enough offensive plays called. I would look at this tape and try to see if how we could do better defensively even if it meant taking a chapter from UNC's book. UNC looked to be in our passing lanes more and in our grill more.

I agree the defense coule have been better but I think they only shot 41 percent against us. But it was VERY timely shooting for sure!! When they needed to score they got open 3s or lay ups and knocked down a great percentage of free throws!
It is one game among many, lets hope that the ship gets righted soon and we get the OTHER half of our top recruiting class back on the floor soon and not in a shirt and tie!!

I know we will get Joe back and feel we will get Morris by SEC time. I think we will be fine then. Maybe it's for the better Woo and Shag aren't doing well, it would hurt to sit them for Morris if they were.

UNC is extremely good, better than people think so i don't think its that bad of a lose for us. Our players look a little chunky and don't run the floor like they should, Tubby must not be running them the way he did when he became coach

I agree UNC's players are good but VERY young and we should have played better at least in my thoughts, it was a very winnable game. But its a loss now its time to move on and put it behind us and try to learn from it.

I feel a lot will be learned from this and a few wind sprints would help too.
