Associated Press Fox Sports LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Rajon Rondo scored a career-high 19 points and No. 8 Kentucky held off Lipscomb 67-49 on Monday night in the second round of the Guardians Classic. A 23-9 run during the final 10 minutes finally allowed Kentucky (2-0) to put away Lipscomb (1-1) and advance to the tournament semifinals next Monday in Kansas City, Mo. The Wildcats will play either No. 20 Iowa or Colgate, who meet in a second-round game Tuesday. More..click hereStill not too pleased with our performance but we did pull away in the end and beat them more than we did SD. When did we go up to #8 anyway? I was talking to The Bubbette about why Tubby didn't play Bradley across from Rondo and lo and behold, he did it. Most of the second half as well. I though Bradley more then earned his stripes along with Moss. We all know Rondo was great. Iowa is going to be the first big test to see if the cats have it, stay tuned.

Far from a perfect performance, but a better performance. The defense and the ball handling were considerably better. Lipscomb was one of the quicker teams I have ever seen play in Rupp! They are going to win some games in their league. Rondo, Moss and Bradley were very good!

although SD and Lipscomb were faily decent teams. BTA, UK is far from playing to it's potential.

I agree these were not bad teams we were playing. Sd State played well as a team and made a heck of a comeback in last nights first game. As far as Lipscomb they have a lot of athletes and are going to do well in their conference! Wimp Sandersons son coaches the team and will no doubt one day be moving up the coaching ladder. He does a nice job!!
