He had become a household name for rabid Kentucky basketball fans even before setting foot in Lexington for the first time this past weekend. They were there eagerly awaiting Jodie Meeks' arrival at luxurious Wildcat Lodge, recognizing even his parents, Orestes and Margaret. There was no anonymity anywhere for the Norcross basketball star and UK coach Tubby Smith as they later made their way about town. So it is in the basketball-crazed Bluegrass State, where Wildcats players and coaches come close to royalty. Meeks, a 6-foot-4 senior guard, will get the chance to experience that lifestyle up close after declaring Monday his intentions to play for Kentucky, which he chose over Florida and Alabama. Meeks plans to make his commitment binding during next month's national signing period. More..click hereMore on commitmentA pretty good guard in my book and loves UK.

Bubba, Meeks was at the bean bag toss on Friday night with Ravi, Bobby Perry and Sims. He was quiet but very polite and seemed in disbelief about all the fuss! Can you imagine what he must think about the fan support after seeing that? What will he think when he sees 20,000 plus pack Rupp for a practice!! UK is truly special! As he said in his own words it is an honor to get the oppurtunity to play for Kentucky!
