Parade All-American Alex Legion signed with Kentucky on Tuesday to become the first high-profile recruit in the Billy Gillispie era. Legion, a 6-foot-5 guard from Detroit, also had been considering UCLA and Michigan. He signed with Michigan in the fall before changing his mind when the school fired Tommy Amaker as coach. The commitment came the week after Legion and his mother visited the UK campus. “They both just felt that was the place,” said Steve Smith, who coached Legion for Oak Hill Academy. This is shaping up to be a real good recruiting class as I am hearing great things about AJ Strong! The addition of Patterson could take it from good to great!

AJ Strong is a new one to me, what can you tell us about him?

I'm starting to get pumped about next season now. It would be great if we could land a tough big guy like Patterson. Maybe Legion's words will carry some weight. We will definitely have some talent at the guard position.

Sorry it was A.J. Stewart. I had wrong last name. He is the guy we signed back in the spring signing period. A player who apparently has huge upside and is very proud to tell you he is coming to Kentucky no matter who the coach was because he wants to play for Kentucky!
I have heard several people talking about what a quality young man and hard working player he is.

I just hope we can land Patterson, Mike Williams is gonna be a project and who knows if anything will become of Jared Carter. We need a guy who can put up consistent numbers every night and so far I don't see anyone.

So far I haven't been impressed too much with Carter, so bringing in a big man may be on Gillispie's wish list.

I just read where Tyler Zeller (08 Center) from Washington Indiana has been offered so it looks like BG is on top of the situation.
