SECRET FINALLY OUT FOR UK SIGNEE FROM CHRISTIAN COUNTY
FRANKFORT - Christian County star Arnika Brown found out two weeks ago that she had won Miss Basketball honors.
"My coach (Don Dillard) told me, but I had to keep it a secret from everybody but my mom," Brown said. "I've been on pins and needles since then. It was like having a million dollars that I couldn't go out and spend."
South Laurel standout Walt Allen, on the other hand, didn't know he had won Mr. Basketball honors until he arrived at the Capitol Rotunda for yesterday morning's news conference and was introduced to Gov. Ernie Fletcher.
Brown and Allen will wear the No. 1 jerseys for the Kentucky All-Stars when they play Indiana on June 17 at Bowling Green and June 24 at Indianapolis.
