Texas a happy hunting ground for Gillispie

University of Kentucky basketball coach Billy Gillispie has been on the job for only one month, but several things already are clear.

He is going to be a bear on the recruiting trail, especially in Texas.

A former head coach at Texas-El Paso and Texas A&M, Gillispie already has one commitment from Texas and has the Wildcats in line to land a number of other top players from the Lone Star State in the next few years.

Even though Gillispie is well known in Texas, I'm sure other states will become familiar with him in time.

Texas is a big state, and has always been a hotbed for football players. Maybe it could become a hotbed for basketball players as well.

Those Texas schools have been doing well of late, surely they won't mind if we slip a few recruits out of their state.
