University of Kentucky basketball coach Billy Gillispie has been on the job for only one month, but several things already are clear. He is going to be a bear on the recruiting trail, especially in Texas. A former head coach at Texas-El Paso and Texas A&M, Gillispie already has one commitment from Texas and has the Wildcats in line to land a number of other top players from the Lone Star State in the next few years. Texas is a big state, and has always been a hotbed for football players. Maybe it could become a hotbed for basketball players as well.

Those Texas schools have been doing well of late, surely they won't mind if we slip a few recruits out of their state.
