Two facts: Elizabethtown's Steffphon Pettigrew is Kentucky's Mr. Basketball. And he wanted badly to play for the University of Kentucky.
The first one doesn't mean as much as you might think. The state has produced some outstanding players in the past decade, but the Mr. Basketball award has been no harbinger of NCAA Division I success.
But that second fact -- wanting badly to be a Wildcat -- means more than you might think. That's particularly relevant now as new coach Billy Gillispie works to make UK once again as coveted a destination for elite players as North Carolina, Duke, UCLA and even Florida.

I wish Pettigrew would rethink his crossing the Cats off of his list, he would fit in good at UK. I hope BG realizes this as well.
