BUT RECRUIT WON'T SAY UK HAS AN EDGE Kentucky Coach Billy Gillispie made a winning impression on heralded prospect Patrick Patterson during an in-home visit Monday night. Whether that translates into a signature on a national letter of intent remains to be seen. Gillispie impressed Patterson by showing the player precisely how he would develop and nurture him. "I would touch the ball a bunch of times in the game," Patterson said yesterday of the plan Gillispie presented. "I would average 16 to 20 shots a game. I'd get my minutes. ... I'd run the floor well, and he'd be able to develop me into a top-notch player on the court and off the court. "And we'd win a championship." Click here: www.kentuckyconnect.com/276/story/45765.htmlA very positive pitch to a popular power forward isn't it? UK has 3 starters returning and I don't feel as negative as some do about our big men, I think they will do well. I'm sure BG is going to scour the countryside looking at PF's in the meantime. There may be a JC PF out there?

I guess it doesn't hurt to stroke a player's ego just a little. In my opinion, he would get a lot of playing time-if he earned it. I have to say that I like the way that Gillispie is so positive. I hope that he remains that way, and that it oozes over to our players.

I hope his recruiting style rewards UK with as many good players as the praises he is getting for his efforts.
