It's being reported that Tubby visited Tyler Smith recently. I'll have to check up on him but some say if we land him that our recruiting class will be top ten.

I don't believe he's a Junior and in answering your question about canceling his show, to me this shows he is doing his job and earning his money. By placing recruiting at the top of his agenda bodes well for UK. His arse is far from being on the hot seat BTW.

Whether Tubby is doing a good job or not will always be debated on message boards forever! That gets hashed out on here and everywhere else daily. But, I have to agree I don't see any way that he is on the hot seat as far as his job. If he is on the hotseat then 99 percent of the division 1 coaches are on the hotseat!

Its so funny that everything Bubba has to say Jeff always agree's Tubby is on the hot seat wether you want to admit it or not. Dicky V said this is the worst Kentucky team that he has ever seen doesnt that tell you something?

Shain at this point I will continue to take the high road as to your comment about Bubba and myself and not dignify it with a response.
Secondly I will repeat again Tubby Smith is not on the hot seat. The only hot seat he is on with his success the last few years is in certain people's minds. The people who make the decisions on his job are not the message board people we see all over the internet these days.
I will also state for the 5th or 6th time on this board should at any point the powers that be decide to replace Tubby I will support the next coach the same way I have Tubby and every coach we have had!

Futhermore, Jeff doesn't agree with me because I'm the founder of BBH, he is his own man and has his own likes and dislikes. But to your surprise, There are by far a lot more UK fans that support their coach than just me and Jeff.

To me its not a thing about whether it is Tubby or whoever it would be leading our program. I have not and will not stop supporting part of our program, (the coach) and keep supporting part of the program, (the team). If people do choose to do so as part of being a fan, that is their choice! I cannot do that. To me part of the greatness of Kentucky baskeball is the we are all in this together theme! Everyone has to believe that because, trust me no one else likes us!
I know some people will post on here and other sites over and over that supporting Tubby is putting him over the program! Like it or not, he is our coach. I don't agree with everything he does and he is not perfect. But, believe this he knows twice the amount of basketball as any person on this or any other message board!
He has won nearly 80 percent of his games as coach of UK. Yes, things aren't great right now and they may not be great this year. But I for one will not stop supporting a man who has been as successful as he has because of setting at 13-6 right now. If fans choose to do so because of whatever reason that of course is their right. I don't think that you are not a fan. But it will cause you to not to enjoy the many wins which are going to come our way during the rest of his tenure. While message board people who do not like him may want to think he is on the hot seat, in all reality you do not have records like he has last few years and be in danger because you are 13-6.

He has had 2 10 lose season's and this will be his third. Im going to do alittle research and see if any other Kentucky coach has done that.

Actually Shain, Tubby has had 3 different 10 loss seasons and this could be his 4th. So those are FACTS. If at the end of the season the powers that be, decide that is enough to let someone go who has won the second most games in the last 4 years, then so be it. I don't think that will happen, but I would accept it as being best for the program and suppport our new coach just as I do Tubby! So i know all the 10 loss FACTS and that still doesn't make me think that Tubby is a bad coach.
However it is also a FACT that these are the last three seasons
2002-03 32-4 2003-04 27-5 2004-05 28-6
TOTALS 87 wins-15 losses, if this year is included it would be 100 wins and 21 losses. That is a winning percentage of 82.6% over that span. That is a FACT. Now it is true, no final fours in those numbers, that is a FACT. But its also a FACT there are two elite eights. That includes last years double overtime loss, where one extra rebound puts us in the final four! That is a FACT! Now if at the end of the year that coupled with this years disapointment and possible 10 loss season makes us look for a new coach then so be it. BUT, we would be hard pressed to find someone to exceed those numbers he has put up with the exception of possibly the final four appearances. Now that last line isn't a fact but its my opinion!

Just for the record, i stated flat out that he has had 3 10 loss seasons, so that is honestly admitting his worst! That is even after you only mentioned 2 ten loss seasons. I didnt shy away from any of that.
Oh and also for the record his best I didn't even mention and that is that NCAA championship ring he wears.

Hate to tell you uk9698,, but he is on hotseat. Boosters have met separately and reps of the boosters have met with Mitch concerning this. The blueblood in the lower bowl is not happy one bit. They are ready to fork over whatever it takes. There was a comment in the past week from Mitch concerning salvageable. That was from the meetings with the boosters and the UKAA upper staff (Mitch and his direct reports). they wanted to know what it would take to keep Tubby. I am sure the only answer was NC, runner up and final four. Nothing less. If there is anything less than that... they dont want him back. I am not sure I would disagree with that assessment from the boosters. --- There is also the report of the Charlotte Bobcats... that rumor while not linkable or directly tracable appears to have roots and veritable merit.

Yea the Charlotte Bobcats rumors are everywhere. In all honesty it wouldn't surprise me if he did leave for whatever reason. I had not heard ANY of the reports you are making though.
I will just state that UK has been my team for 32 years now, since I was 5 years old. I will be with them regardless of who is their coach.
IMO, it is kind of sad how quickly its forgotten. We were one rebound away last year from the final four in our double overtime loss. Thats the difference in a lot of peoples minds here. He only goes to elite 8s and not final 4s.
Lets assume winstonwolf, that he leaves by his doing or being pushed out? Who is the front runner?
Pitino? Do we try to get him back? He kind of has always left the door open by saying it was the worst mistake he ever made!
Donovan? He has shown great recruting ability but has only made it out of first weekend of tourney once!
Wright? Reported a few different places last week.
Someone else? Just curious to if you knew anything. i am sure as someone posted on here the other day all AD's have a wish list justi n case of needing it!
