I'm not sure he's thinking right but it's his loss more than ours, I think?

Unfortunately it is like a bad broken record, that has been played a lot lately!

The real disapointing thing to me is this. I am about as optimistic as they come about our basketball program. But I am not even surprised anymore about things like this. I kind of expected it.

I have read different things about Tyler Smith. There was a Tenn. fan that actually said that we would be better off without him, and that his father was one of those pushy dads and would want favors. I don't know if it's true, but I do agree that I wish there were more players excited about playing for U.K. I read an article that was saying that UK isn't 'cool' anymore. It made me think about the fact that young kids now really don't care about tradition anymore, and we are probably the strictest programs in the country. We don't let players stay on the team that have commited crimes. I think that we need a good 'salesman' to sell our program to these youngsters. Let's face it. We don't have anybody on our bench right now that comes across as being exciting. It takes someone that has charisma. I don't know why this kid chose Iowa. I can't see a good reason to choose them. Maybe there were favors.

Somebody is possibly feeding these recruits some things they want to hear or bad things about UK and/or it's coaches. I think all four of our recruits are going to please us and maybe be exciting as well. Stay tuned, basketball season will be here before you know it.

I agree with a lot of things said on here.
I will add this. Success in recruiting in most instances breeds more success in recruiting. It simply hasnt worked out for us in that way lately.
It is in no way a time to panic we have talented players and 4 nice recruits coming in. However, there is NO Doubt even to my eyes, that there is something going on that needs to be corrected!
I read the same thing about not being cool. Hey, you cant argue with that one bit. There isnt exactly an assistant coach over there right now who is a household name or is someone who gets you all pumped up!
My comment about not being surprised is really kind of sad to me to make, because I dont feel like we should go into ANY recruiting battle especially with the Iowa's and Pitt's of the world expecting to lose. BUT as of late that has been the case!

It is a sad situation with recruiting and one the bashers wave under some's noses. Some of the fault has to lie with the head coach and hopefully he will strengthen his position in that category.
