Coach Mickie DeMoss has been chasing Amani Franklin since this summer, and she wasn't sure she would get the guard from Decatur, Ga.
But the coach got a pleasant surprise yesterday when the 5-foot-11 guard sent in her letter of intent to Kentucky, choosing the Cats over Georgia Tech, Mississippi State and Louisiana Tech.
"She's a utility, do-everything kind of guard," DeMoss said of the Redan High School star, who has helped the school become a perennial power in Georgia. "She had a really good summer and got a lot of interest."
