Gators coach Meyer stepping down

Florida Gators football coach Urban Meyer is resigning.

Meyer, who was admitted to a hospital because of chest pains following this season's Southeastern Conference championship game, cited health reasons as the reason for his departure.

This comes as quite a surprise.

I've head that it's a health issue but have also heard it's not. It's still a surprise. Meyer is a very good coach and I'm sure it's a letdown not to be playing for a national title but Bama earned it.

This thing is getting strange now. Now, he's saying just a leave of absence, or another position in the athletic dept.
I'm sure all of the Fla. fans were shocked.
I guess that we will find out if there's more to the decision later.
Now, this thing with Mike Leach at Texas Tech is really crazy.

Looks like Meter just needs to step back from it all for a bit, it appears he'll be back at Florida next year. I still can't help but think he'd want to coach them in their bowl game?
