Nobody was surprised Southern California replaced Pete Carroll with a coach who has rich ties to the Trojans. From Knoxville to Hollywood, almost everybody was stunned to learn exactly which former Trojan is back. Lane Kiffin abruptly left Tennessee after one season Tuesday night to return to USC, where he was an assistant coach for six years before embarking on one of the strangest, swiftest and rockiest journeys in recent coaching history. www.kentucky.com/232/story/1093087.htmlWow! What a shocker! I wonder who their next coach will be?

I guess blood is thicker than water? Kiffin evidently loves the Pac 10 where he had coached before and especially the chance to coach the USC Trojans. I guess going down to the beach during the off season does have some appeal .

He couldn't get out of Knoxville quick enough, could he? Of course, from the comments that I am hearing from the Vol fans, he may need a police escort out. BTW, I heard on ESPN that some of the Orange boosters have brought up Fulmer's name to come back. Anybody surprised by that?

The coach from Air Force, as well as David Cutcliff, turned them down. It's now being reported that Vince Dooley's son is their new coach.

Is it just me or did Tennessee perhaps settle for someone who would take the job? Hmmmmm the Billy G rushed hire of football maybe?
