HAMBURG, Germany — University of Kentucky commitment Michael Gilchrist scored 18 points, and the United States won FIBA's Under-17 championship with a 111-80 victory over Poland on Sunday. Fellow UK commitment Marquis Teague chipped in eight points and eight assists for the U.S. (8-0), which won its games by an average of 34.8 points. UK target Quinn Cook had 11 assists for the U.S., which forced Poland (7-1) into 27 turnovers. The U.S. team scored the last 12 points of the first half to take a 58-41 lead. Wonderful news! Thanks for posting it. I am starting to get excited about another basketball season, but I am ready to see how our football team fares this year. It's all just around the corner. Oh yeah!
