SEC suspends Pearl for 8 SEC games

Tennessee coach Bruce Pearl has been suspended for the Volunteers' first eight Southeastern Conference games as punishment from league Commissioner Mike Slive for violating NCAA rules and misleading investigators.

This is not only a black eye for Tennessee but for the SEC as well. In my opinion, Pearl is fortunate to still have a job and am wondering if the NCAA might punish him even more.

I would be suprised if Pearl isnt punished more by the NCAA. But with them who knows?

Pearl is good for the game but absolutely must play it straight or he'll be in the pros with Sampson. I still keep getting hit from this Illinois/ converted IU fan about Calipari's illegal recruiting and it just goes in one ear and out the other when you tell them he's never been charged with anything. Kind of like talking to an ESPN guy.

Hey, it's tough living where I live, 50 miles from the IU campus and 25 miles from the Illinois border. Looks like the Illini fans will crawl out of the woodwork again this season, they look to have a good team this year. With Indiana signing the youngest Zeller kid (6'10), they'll be whooping up pretty soon too. I'm sure Zeller will attract some decent talent that will want to play with him. You guys living in Kentucky are lucky, that is unless you live next to the Tennessee, Ohio or Indiana borders. Living in Louisville might suck once in a while too. I'm glad I'm retired, it's going to be much easier on me now not having to put up with that BS all the time.
