Because we been a little slower getting committments this year people are concerned that we may not have a strong year this year! Uhhhhh, think again. With this signing, most services have us either 2nd or 3rd for the 2012 class. And we are still involved with several other highly ranked players!
Just FYI, from everything i have read we will get a quick, leg up on the class of 2013. We are a runaway train in recruiting and its picking up speed!
5-Star Recruit Alex Poythress Picks Kentucky Posted: Nov 10, 2011 2:31 PM by Mary Jo Perino He kept everyone in suspense, but five star wing Alex Poythress picked Kentucky in a ceremony at his high school Thursday afternoon.
The 6-foot-7 Poythress is Kentucky's third commitment of the 2012 recruiting class. He joins five-star recruit Archie Goodwin and four-star prospect Willie Cauley. Poythress picked UK over Vandy, Florida and Memphis.
According to ESPN and Scout.com, the addition of Poythress moves Kentucky's recruiting class up from number 9 to number 2. The Cats have a realistic shot at landing the top recruiting class in the nation for the fourth straight year.
Poythress ranks No. 16 overall in the 2012 class on Scout.com and 13th according to ESPN's rankings.

That's good news, I was hoping he'd pick the Cats. It's been a good recruiting year already and we may not be done yet.

I'm wondering, with all these great classes Cal is bringing in every year, how long it's going to be before people start complaining if there's not another banner hanging in Rupp? This is the downside, if there is one, in my opinion, to having a top three or top five class each year. Most, if not all, of them move on to the NBA before they become seasoned veterans.

GREAT point sandman. The answer is if we dont win it all this year. He got a little bit of a pass the first year because it was his first year. Last year without Kanter i believe everyone will agree we overachieved with a final four appearance. They will start complaining if we dont win it this year

I thought we were very lucky to get Jones and Lamb back and from the looks of the lockout, so are they. I'm almost sure that's why UNC had so many return. Now they've got a top 5 draftee in Macadoo coming off the bench. I like getting top players but it's tough seeing almost a completely different team every year.
