I was talking to a fellow this morning that is a huge UT fan, and who is privy to info before it becomes public knowledge. He told me he has it on good authority that UT has offered Gruden 60 million, plus incentives, over 10 years. If true and if Gruden turns it down, I think it would be safe to say he's not interested in coaching in college. For those of you who may not know, Gruden was an asst. coach at UT, at one time, and his wife was a cheerleader there. Also, his wife is from Maryville, Tn.

That sure is a huge offer. I was just reading an article today that said back in the day "it was four or you're gone". The article then said that philosophy seems to have slipped to 3. The average coaching tenor in the SEC is something like 4.6 years. To offer someone a 10-year contract would seem like a big risk. Stranger things have happened I guess.
