sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=2295690I don't think I could tell you the last time I heard a major college coach getting involved with the fans. Mr. Pearl maybe should get used to a lot of that, especially now that all the fans know they can get him involved! You would think he would have more on his mind then what and who the fans are heckling! Wow, can you imagine what he will be like with 24,000 fans screaming at him in a couple of weeks at Rupp!! On a side note, I find it not surprising that the only thing the UT atheltic director questioned was the comments made by LSU's coach! They been turning the other cheek for problems in the football program for years! How can you ever support, as mentioned in the article, a coaches interaction with the other teams fans in this manner? Boy that University of Tennessee thats a classy place! How did Pat Summitt get mixed up at that place?

I think we are going to love disliking Pearl for many years. He loves the head game thing.

Hey I am not saying he isn't a good coach. Just curious as to why you think he is the best coach in the league?

To come in and turn Tenn. around the way he did and his recruiting class for next year is better than what he has now.

I agree, they are better thats for sure. Also he has got some good players coming in. They are going to be better while he's there thats for sure. I think he is probably the upper half of the leagues coaches, just in my opinion wouldnt be the best. But I am glad you said it you have gave me a very good idea! Thanks.

I Will agree that in maybe time Pearl may be considered great but one or two years doesn't do it. He is one hell of a PR man and a multi-talented instigator though.

Good points. Actually its a lot like some of agents of celebrities who would want people talking about their clients regardless of whether its talking good or bad!

They will always be good from time to time, but they are not the type of program that can keep their coach from leaving for other higher profile basketball programs! You can tell that Pearl wants to be as high of profile as possible!
