I just finished watching the match on youtube and holy cow did she take a whipping. Holm must have tagged her at least a dozen times in the face in the first round and ended it about halfway through the second round with a solid punch that turned Rousey around and finished her off with a savage kick that turned off the lights for Rousey. I was just saying to my wife a day or two before the fight that one of the days, someone is going catch her off guard and knock her out. Holm not only did that but dominated the fight as well.

I hated that Rousey lost. Unlike a lot of people who always root for the underdog, if they don't have a vested interest in a person or team, I like to see streaks go on for as long as they can. Now if Rousey had lost a match or two, and was still the favorite, I might not have been for her, but I love the streaks.

I started out liking Rousey as her athletic/martial arts dominance was pretty spectacular. As time went on though and her arrogance and cockiness grew, I found myself wanting her to lose. I'm sure she will come back as strong as ever, but then again, maybe not. The first tough loss has taken the shine off of many elite athletes.

I would think that getting hammered, like she did, would get in a person's head as well. She may never be the same again.
