Grass is close to getting out of control

I finally got most of my yard cleaned up but the weather hasn't cooperated. It's going to get pretty tall from what the weather forecast has said before I get a chance to mow. I might have to grin and bare it Sunday regardless.

I'm about ready to begin mowing as well. I need to get my arse in gear and service my riding mower. We're heading into all these little "winters" that we have in the Spring around here. It's overcast and unseasonably cool here right now. I guess this is redbud winter as they're in full bloom.

I might stripe up the yard but tomorrow is my only chance.

I went to Wal-Mart and purchased a trimmer this morning. Baby steps.

My push mower wouldn't start today, (Sunday) so I had to do as much trimming as I could with the rider. I almost drove it into the ditch in doing so, so I hopped off and had the wife try to drive it while I pushed it. She hadn't been on the zero turn for a couple of years and made matters worse when she was behind the wheel. I finally got it to safe territory and finished the yard.

Be careful, my friend, mowing can be a dangerous chore.

Yeah, I know Sandman. I've had this mower and another mower in this 3 foot ditch 3 times and burnt my arm on my present rider's muffler. I had an apple tree's limb catch in my sweater sleeve and jerked me clear off the mower. I began wearing safety glasses not only while mowing but anytime I do anything that could possibly injure my eyes. I try and be careful but you know that doesn't always work.

I hadn't planned on mowing this week, but I'm going to have to do some spot mowing in the back yard. That's where my wife plays with the dog, and she was complaining, this morning, about the grass being too high back there.

Mine has taken off a bit after that mow, hope to mow again soon if weather allows.
