If I had to root for one team, I guess it would be Villanova. I don't want Kansas to win another game but was appreciative of them beating Duke. I don't want Michigan to win, never have liked them since the Fab Five. I also don't want Loyola to win and while the Sister Jean story is loved by the media, I'm not a sentimentalist and do not want them to not win it either. This is the order I'd pick if I had my druthers.
1) Villanova
2) Kansas
3) Loyola
4) Michigan
Now that I've said that, one of the last two will probably win it.

Ordinarily, I wouldn't care who wins it but, and don't hold it against me, I have to pull for Kansas. If they beat Villanova, my wife wins the office pool no matter who wins the NC.

I think Kansas has the better team of the four and it wouldn't bother me a lot if they won. Coach K almost beat them but screwed it up by not getting Bagley more touches. Also, if you look at the end of regulation, Bagley was posted up pretty decently but Allen wanted to be the hero and came close but it was not to be. If the refs wanted to give it to Duke, they could have called a foul on the guy guarding Allen when he got a slight hip bump (it would have been called in our last game) or after Allen's miss when one of the Kansas players pushed Carter under the basket trying to get the rebound. The last one would probably have been called against us as well.
Getting back to our game, I don't think I've seen any other game in this tournament called as tight as ours and when Coack K whined about the refs being disruptive in their game against Kansas, Kentucky would definitely have a good case of calling the refs disruptive in the K State game. Oh well, spilt milk.

It's a shame, in my opinion, that Nova and Kansas are playing each other in a semi-final match up. I think that would have provided the best match up for the NC.

That's true, sometimes (maybe a lot?) the NCAA bracket makers get it way too wrong. I also think theY're influenced way too much by Joe Lunardi. From what I've read, he only missed 2 teams seeding arrangement. I hate it that we blew a big chance to get to the Final Four but I'm sure Virginia, Arizona, Xavier and even Duke feel the same way. I dislike the fact that I enjoyed so much Allen missing the winning shot in regulation against Kansas but hey, it's Duke and the "Tripper". |
