‘It just got scary’: Five-star power forward EJ Montgomery c

A few weeks ago, John Calipari made it clear that he wanted to add EJ Montgomery to his 2018 recruiting class regardless of who came back from this past season’s team.

On Monday morning, Calipari got his wish.

That’s when Montgomery — a 6-foot-11 power forward from Marietta, Ga. — announced his commitment to the University of Kentucky, one day after meeting with the Wildcats’ head coach.

EJ on board and Jones leaving. I'm glad to get Montgomery but hated to lose the depth Jones would have given us. He will probably do OK somewhere else.

I expect us to lose at least three more and, possibly more. I expect Diallo to go as well as Gabriel and one of these three, Richards, Vanderbilt and Washington.

Any of those you mentioned declaring for the draft or transferring wouldn't surprise me one bit. It would be a more than decent team if they all stayed though
