LEXINGTON, Ky. – Junior third baseman Abbey Cheek launched a two-run home run to right field in the bottom of the fourth inning to plate the go-ahead and game-winning run for the No. 18 Kentucky Wildcats as they evened the series with a 4-2 win over No. 6 Georgia on Saturday at John Cropp Stadium. Autumn Humes got her ninth win in the circle for the Wildcats with a complete-game performance in the circle, allowing one of the best offenses in the nation just two runs on six hits. Humes didn't walk a batter in the game, and had three strikeouts. Her record is now 9-5 on the season and she picks up her third top-10 win of the season (LSU). Game three to decide the series will be at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday afternoon in Lexington. It's Bark in the Park at John Cropp Stadium, as fans are encouraged to bring their dogs to the ballpark with a donation to the Lexington Humane Society. The game will be shown live on the SEC Network+, ESPN3 and the ESPN app with Dave Baker (pxp) and Dorian Craft (color) on the call. ukathletics.com/news/2018/4/21/softball-cheeks-12th-homer-humes-complete-game-guides-uk-to-4-2-win.aspx

This is my second year of watching women's softball and Cheeks is one gal that definitely takes her cuts. I always considered myself a fairly decent baseball and softball player (shortstop) and I saw UK's second base (person?) backhand a sharply hit ground ball as good as I ever could. It's always been interesting to me to see the different skill levels that the players have.
